The Black Academy of Arts and Letters is hosting a Labor Day jazz festival from Sept. 3 to Sept. 5. The event will be held at 650 South Griffin Street in Dallas from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day. Granbury Square Labor Day Weekend Celebration

The Historic Granbury Merchants Association is hosting a Labor Day weekend festival from Sept. 4 to Sept. 6. The event will be held at 201 East Pearl Street. Vendors will sell items around the square, and the surrounding shops will offer Labor Day sales. The shops will also extend their hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday. There will also be live music, food, a kids zone, and more. On Friday night will feature karaoke sponsored by D'Vine Wine, and Saturday night will feature a street dance. Sunday night will feature a lighted boat parade on Lake Granbury. Dallas Arboretum Labor Day Weekend Celebration

The Dallas Arboretum is celebrating the end of summer with $2 hot dogs and root beer floats and live music from 2 p.m. to 4 pm on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn from Saturday, Sept. 4 to Monday, Sept. 6. On Saturday, a rock and soul cover band called the Coppertones will play music starting at 11 a.m. as Pacaya Coffee Roasters serve craft roasted specialty coffee from Guatemala. On Sunday, the birds and trainers of Window to the Wild will fly over the concert lawn at 10:30 a.m. At 11 a.m., Greenville Avenue Pizza Company will host a demo with samples in honor of National Cheese Pizza Day and Downtown Fever, one of Emerald City’s bands, will perform on the Concert Stage from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Labor Day, Dallas College Cooks will host demos at 11 a.m., and Groovadelix will perform classic rock, blues, Motown and country hits.
